The Gathering & Crafting system is just as profound as combat
The gathering and crafting system of Final Fantasy XIV Gil is again very unique, but also shares some similarities with how courses work. The moment you hit level ten, you’ll have the ability to go to a nearby city and unlock every crafting/gathering course, which can be used by again, equipping its specific tool, much like your battle course. You are not limited to the number of gathering and crafting courses you can learn, and they all share seperate experience development.
Crafting itself isn’t just “click to make this with X ingredients” either. You can play a kind of mini-game together with you abilities to create your thing – the intent is to successfully craft the product, with the highest possible prospect of it getting a top quality item, and without breaking it which causes a loss of materials. As we mentioned above, higher quality items reward double expertise, but they also give off better stats than their normal counterparts.
Each crafting class has its own set abilities: they do things like increase the durability of an item, increase an action’s success rate and increase the quality; some provide more quality, but in a lesser success opportunity. Bearing in mind that some of these activities reduce an items durability, nearly all also consume a resource named CP. Just like battle classes, you can even borrow some abilities from other crafting classes as soon as you’ve unlocked them.
All in all, it’s a juggle between handling your CP, item durability, and crafting advancement.
Gathering is very similar. There are three available: Miners extract minerals from gems, Botanists harvest wood and plants, whereas Fisher’s obviously reel in the fish. You will use your skills to search out and find hidden nodes to harvest whatever it is you’re gathering. As CP was a source to crafters, Buy FF14 Gil is a gather’s resource, which is spent on increasing the prospect of harvesting premium quality materials. Gathering classes also include some cool skills – an example could be the Miner/Botanist capability to stealth past enemies so as to get to dangerous high-risk nodes.
